’21 Days to Change’ | Day 2

You’ve made it to Day 2. Congratulations!

How’s it going?

Are you feeling any sense of accomplishment yet? You should. And yet it has only been a day… so let’s not get overly excited about our accomplishments! ūüėČ

Change can be hard.

In some cases, REALLY hard.

But change can also be good.

Life-giving and good.

And the reality is that if change were easy, every one would do it — so you’re attempting something that not a lot of other people are willing to attempt.

And it’s also worth mentioning that it’s true what they say, good things are worth waiting for.

So change is worth waiting for.

It’s worth enduring whatever hardship and struggle you might find yourself in today.

So be encouraged!

From the Old Testament: Genesis 3:1-4:26

3:1¬†Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”¬†2¬†The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,¬†3¬†but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ”¬†4¬†“You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman.¬†5¬†“For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”¬†Keep reading‚Ķ

From the New Testament: Matthew 2:13-3:12

2:13¬†When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”¬†14¬†So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,¬†15¬†where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”¬†keep reading‚Ķ

From the Psalms: Psalm 2

1¬†Why do the nations conspire¬†and the peoples plot¬†in vain?¬†2¬†The kings¬†of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed¬†One.¬†3¬†“Let us break their chains,” they say, “and throw off their fetters.”¬†4¬†The One enthroned¬†in heaven laughs;the Lord scoffs at them.¬†5¬†Then he rebukes them in his anger¬†and terrifies them in his wrath,¬†saying,¬†6¬†“I have installed my Kingon Zion,¬†my holy hill.”¬†7¬†I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, “You are my Son;¬†today I have become your Father.¬†8¬†Ask of me, and I will make the nations¬†your inheritance,¬†the ends of the earth¬†your possession.¬†9¬†You will rule them with an iron scepter;¬†you will dash them to pieces¬†like pottery.”¬†10¬†Therefore, you kings, be wise;¬†be warned, you rulers¬†of the earth.¬†11¬†Serve the LORD with fear¬†and rejoice¬†with trembling.¬†12¬†Kiss the Son,¬†lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath¬†can flare up in a moment. Blessed¬†are all who take refuge¬†in him.

From the Proverbs: Proverbs 1:7-9

7¬†The fear of the LORD¬†is the beginning of knowledge, but fools¬†despise wisdom¬†and discipline.¬†8¬†Listen, my son,¬†to your father’s¬†instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.¬†9¬†They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.

And a prayer to close:

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,

The power, and the glory,

For ever and ever.

Keep it up!
